Habit 36 – Ration television time

One of my favorite things to do at the end of a long, frenetic week is to lie on the sofa, under a blanket, and watch one whodunit after the other. If I’m lucky, some networks run marathons. It’s my vice; we all have one or two. I think it ties with surfing the web as the least productive thing I do. I know, there are a plethora of studies to show how bad television is for us, but if you really listen carefully, you can hear tires screeching. That’s productivity coming to a halt. It is difficult to supercharge your productivity if you’re glued in front of a TV for hours at a time Begin to ration your television time by reducing the number of TVs in the house. Also, set television hours. My children are allotted six hours per week, with no more than 1.5 hours on any given day. They decide how they want to spread out the time. If the reality shows are detouring you from your goals, then supercharge productivity by establish similar guidelines for yourself and rationing television time.
